General Description: This organic farm, located in Marin and Sonoma counties, was founded in 1995 by David Little, who takes pride in his dry-farmed produce. The farm is comprised of six pieces of land located near the ranch, totaling about 30 acres. With the main emphasis on dry-farmed potatoes, the produce variety also includes tomatoes, lettuce, greens, strawberries, squash, cucumbers, kale, broccoli and onions. The farm is diversifying it's selection with each new season. The produce is sold at several farmer's markets including Marin Civic Center, Oakland Grand Lake, and San Francisco Ferry Plaza; and to restaurants and wholesalers in and around the Bay Area.

Skills Desired: Experience is not required, but enthusiasm and a sense of humor are necessary.

Educational Opportunities: Coastal dry-farming techniques for potato and tomato crops; exposure to Bay Area Farmer's Market scene; all around lifestyle that revolves around sustainable, organic, and local farming and business practices.

Stipend: $500/month

Housing: Shared housing (own room) with farmer on beautiful coastal ranch/farm site in West Marin County between the city of Petaluma and small town of Tomales.

Internship Details: Learn all the basics of organic farm practices and dry farming techniques in the coastal Marin climate. This is an educational experience that will be enhanced according to the duration of the internship and the perspective of the participant. Please come to work and learn! Farm work may include seeding, planting, weeding, cultivating and harvesting potatoes, vegetables, or strawberries. Show up in time for the big potato harvest during the late summer and fall or the exciting planting period that goes on throughout late spring and early summer. Work hours are 9-5, 6 days a week. A stipend of $500 per month plus room and board are included with the experience.
